Hoyas Finish Day One of Golfweek Program Challenge

Brian Tohir is tied for 19th overall at the Golfweek Program Challenge.

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's golf program opened its 2012 fall season at the Golfweek Program Challenge in Myrtle Beach, S.C.. After the first round at True Blue Golf Course GU's men's team sits in 12th place. Georgetown's women's team, playing at Caledonia Golf and Fish Club is tied for sixth.

Men's golfer Brian Tohir (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) shot an even par 72 and is tied for 19th overall. Charlie vonArentschildt (Scottsdale, Ariz./Deerfield Academy) had the second best round for the Hoyas shooting a 75. Georgetown's other three golfers, Greg Podufal (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep), Justin Edwards (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake Village) and Curtis Loop (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) shot 76, 77 and 79 respectively.

The Hoyas start at 8:20 a.m. tomorrow, September 10, for round two with Loop leading the way. For full second round information visit Golfweek's website at http://golfweek.com.
