Men’s Golf to Play in Memphis Intercollegiate

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men’s golf team starts the 2017-18 season this weekend, playing in the Memphis Intercollegiate at the par-72, 7,236-yard Colonial Country Club in Tennessee. The two-day, 54-hole tournament starts on Sunday, Sept. 17 and concludes on Monday, Sept. 18.

The Hoyas will play in a field that includes Alcorn, Arkansas State, Belmont, Fort Wayne, IUPUI, Little Rock, Middle Tennessee State, Stetson, Tennessee State, UT Martin, Western Carolina and Western Kentucky

Georgetown returns all five starters from last year’s team, which placed third at the BIG EAST Championship. The Hoyas posted three top-five finishes as a team, including a win at the Rutherford Intercollegiate. Rising seniors Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) and Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Cardinal Gibbons [Fla.]) were both All-BIG EAST selections and earned Division I PING All-Region honors from the Golf Coaches Association of American.

The lineup for the Blue & Gray this weekend will include Berman and Madsen, along with senior Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean), junior Kevin Jackson (Atlanta, Ga./Marist School) and sophomore Hardin Council (High Point, N.C./Westchester Country Day).
