WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men’s golf team will host the 32nd Georgetown Intercollegiate, taking place at the par 71- 6,950 yard Four Steams golf course in Darnestown, Md. The tournament will begin on Monday, October 17 and conclude on Tuesday, October 18.
The 12-team field includes host Georgetown, as well as DePaul, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Navy, Notre Dame, Princeton, Rhode Island, St. Joseph’s, Temple, Towson and William & Mary.
The Hoyas are coming off a 13th place performance at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic. Junior Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) tied for sixth at even-par 210. Junior Sam Madsen (Madison, Wis./Edgewood/Cardinal Gibbons, [Fla.]) tied for 53rd overall at 10-over par 220. Freshman Eduardo Blochtein (Delray Beach, Fla./Spanish River Community) finished tied for 67th at 14-over par 224. Freshman Hardin Councill (High Point, N.C./Westchester Country Day) finished tied for 72nd overall at 15-over par 225. Junior Jack Musgrave (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean), finished in 76th at 17-over par 227 for the tournament.
Last year the Hoyas finished in fourth place overall in the Georgetown Intercollegiate with a final team score of 599. Princeton (first place) and Rhode Island (second place) join Georgetown as returners from last year’s top five. Berman, Musgrave, and Madsen led the team finishing at 6-over par 148, leaving them tied for ninth place. Berman was also the 2014 champion of the tournament.
Play will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.
