Cole Berman Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week

Oct. 19, 2017

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University’s senior co-captain Cole Berman (Philadelphia, Pa./The Haverford School) was named the BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week after leading the Hoyas to a victory at the 33rd Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate earlier this week.

Berman shot a 219 to finish in a six-way tie for first place, forcing a playoff on the par-3, 10th hole. He chipped in his final shot for eagle on the par-5, 18th hole to post a 72 in the final round.

After two golfers were eliminated in the first playoff on the par-3 10th hole, Berman bowed out in the third playoff hole after shooting par while Navy’s Charlie Musto birdied the hole for the individual medal.

The Hoyas won the 33rd Annual Georgetown Intercollegiate, coming back from an eight-stroke deficit after 36 holes to win by two strokes (894) over BIG EAST foe Seton Hall (896).

Georgetown returns to action at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on October 22-24, hosted by Old Dominion at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C.
