Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University men's golf team will play in its the last tournament of the fall 2008 season this weekend, Oct. 24-26 (Friday-Sunday), at the 2008 NCAA East Regional Preview in Galloway, N.J., hosted by Columbia University. The tournament will serve as a preview for the 2009 NCAA East Regional Division I Men's Golf Championship that will also be played at the Galloway National Golf Club from May 14-16, 2009. The course is 6,900 yards in length and is a par-71 course. Teams will play 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The 54-hole tournament is the only chance for teams to get a feel for the course before the championship in the spring. The 18-team field includes Georgetown, host Columbia, as well as Coastal Carolina, Denver, Eastern Kentucky, Florida, Hartford, Kennesaw State, Louisiana at Monroe, Louisville, Pennsylvania, Princeton, Richmond, St. John's, San Jose State, Texas Christian, William & Mary and Western Illinois. Georgetown is coming off a fifth place showing at its own tournament, the Georgetown Intercollegiate, held at The Members Club at Four Stream in Beallsville, Md. The Hoyas were led by senior Garrett Logan (Henderson, Nev./Bishop Gorman), who tied for eighth place at eight-over par 150.
