Georgetown Finishes in Sixth Place at the Hoya Invitational

Washingotn, D.C. The Georgetown University golf team finished in sixth place at the Hoya Invitational held on September 28 and 29. The tournament was played at the Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Va. The Hoyas shot a 610 in the tournament and finished just one shot out of the top five. Penn State University won the Invitational with a 582.

Tristan Lewis (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) led the Hoyas with a 146 on the par 72 course. He finished tied for fifth place overall. Sophomore Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) also placed in the top 20 overall. He fired a 149, placing him in a tie for 15th place. East Carolina's Frank Adams was the medalist. He had a six-under par 138, three shots better than anyone else.

Senior Cody Courbier (Coconut Grove, Fla./Ransom Everglades) carded a 153 in the tournament. He tied for 25th overall. Freshman Matt Hoesley (Lake Forest, Ill./Loyola) and sophomore Brian Lafferty (Winnetka, Ill./Loyola) led the GU Gray. Each player fired a 156.
