WASHINGTON - Georgetown University men's golf head coach Thomas Hunter announced the signings of two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to join the Hoya golf program for the 2013-14 season. Andrew Rudy from San Diego, California and Austin Rendell from Winnetka, Illinois have both inked NLIs to play for Georgetown next season.

"We are excited to have both Andrew and Austin join our family here at Georgetown," Hunter said. "Both have played golf at a very high level, which will certainly help as they move to the intercollegiate level. They have a great deal of passion for the game and are committed to helping us improve and remain in step with our competition."

Rudy currently attends Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, Calif. He has played extensively on the national level and has competed in several major AJGA events along with regional events on the West Coast. Last season as a junior Rudy broke into the national spotlight with a third place finish in the Bridgestone Tournament of Champions held at Grand Cypress Golf Club with scores of 70-70-79.

Rendell, a senior at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill., also played extensively on the national circuit along with numerous regional events in the Midwest. Rendell recorded two top finishes this past summer, finishing 12th at the AJGA William Penn (73-74-75) and tying for 17th at the AJGA Stonehenge (70-73-73).

Rudy and Rendell will join a Hoya squad that currently boasts four seniors, two juniors, two sophomores and two freshmen. The Hoyas closed the fall season with a ninth place finish at the Georgetown Intercollegiate.
