Men's Lacrosse Celebrates Homecoming with Second Annual Alumni Game

Hoyas continue new tradition on Saturday morning

Team captain ... A hard worker with a great attitude ... A selfless player who made a smooth transition to midfield last year and will be looked upon to play a big role again this spring ... A quick, heady player who rides hard ... Will be looked upon for significant leadership this season.

2008: Made a smooth transition to the midfield last season ... Appeared in 13 games, starting two times ... Eighth on the team in scoring with five goals and five assists for 10 points ... Took 15 shots and collected five ground balls ... Had three multi-point games ... Scored a goal and an assist against St. John's, Rutgers and Penn State.

2007: Appeared in all 15 games, starting 14 times ... Seventh on the team with 13 points ... Fifth on the team with 10 goals ... Added three assists ... Had three multi-point games ... Collected 20 ground balls ... Had a goal and three ground balls against Maryland ... Scored two goals and had an assist against Syracuse ... Scored two goals in win over Navy ... Tallied two goals, had an assist and two ground balls against Rutgers.

2006: Appeared in 12 games as a freshman ... Scored four goals and had four assists for eight points ... Took 17 shots and collected eight ground balls ... Had one multi-point game, scoring a goal and adding an assist against Navy in the NCAA Tournament ... Also scored goals against Delaware, UMass and Penn State ... Tallied assists at Navy and Fairfield and against Virginia in the NCAA Tournament.

High School: A three-sport standout in high school in lacrosse, soccer and hockey ... Earned first-team All-Met honors in lacrosse in 2005...Named first-team all-state in 2004 and 2005...Led Landon to IAC titles in 2002 and 2004-05, including a No. 1 national ranking in 2002...Earned all-league honors in both soccer and hockey.

Personal: Born on April 12, 1986 in Washington ... The son of John and Maureen Samperton ... His sister, Shelby, is a 2003 graduate of Georgetown who played field hockey.
