Charlie Ford Selected by Florida Launch in MLL Supplemental Draft

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University alum Charlie Ford (C‘17) was selected with the 79th overall pick (Round 9) by the Florida Launch in the 2018 Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft on Tuesday. Ford becomes the 33rd Hoya in program history to be selected in an MLL draft.

A two-time All-BIG EAST selection, Ford was a second team honoree as a sophomore and earned first team recognition at long stick midfielder as a junior. During his senior campaign, he transitioned back to close defense and was among the Georgetown leaders in caused turnovers and ground balls. Following his senior campaign, Ford was selected to participate in the 76th Annual USILA/Nike North-South All-Star game. He was the 41st Hoya to be selected for the prestigious game.

For his collegiate career, Ford played in 58 games and amassed 107 ground balls to go with 29 caused turnovers. He also notched three assists during his tenure with the Blue & Gray.
