WASHINGTON - Senior defender John Urbank (Mineola, N.Y./Chaminade), junior midfielder Charlie McCormick (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) and junior attack Reilly O'Connor (Brooklin, Ontario/The Hill Academy) have been selected to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse team when it was announced by the league offices on Tuesday afternoon.
The Hoyas were also picked to finish fourth in the seven-team BIG EAST Conference in a poll of the league's coaches released along with the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.
"I am happy for Reilly, Charlie and John, because they have all worked hard to be in a position to be named All-BIG EAST," Head Coach Kevin Warne said. "We have high expectations for each of them and will count on them to be leaders for this team."
O'Connor and McCormick were both named 2013 All-BIG EAST Second Team after impressive sophomore seasons. O'Connor finished second in the league in points (3.73/game) and third in the league in assists (2.0/game) to lead the Hoyas offense. McCormick also had a breakout season, finishing second on the team with 27 points (19 goals, eight assists).
Urbank finished third on the Hoyas with 14 caused turnovers and picked up 19 ground balls and will be the team's lone returner with starting experience on defense.
Georgetown will begin its second season under Head Coach Kevin Warne on Wednesday, February 12 when they host Mount St. Mary's at Multi-Sport Field. Warne led the Hoyas to a 6-9 record and its first post season appearance since 2007 in his first season on the Hilltop in 2013.
