Jeff Fountain Named to BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll
Feb. 25, 2013
WASHINGTON - Junior attack Jeff Fountain (Lutherville-Timonium, Md./St. Paul's School for Boys) was named to the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll after his first career three-goal game, including the overtime game-winner in Georgetown's 9-8 overtime win over Navy on Sunday. It is the first time during his career on the Hilltop that Fountain has earned BIG EAST Weekly Honors. Fountain made his second career start a memorable one, proving instrumental in the Hoyas comeback and eventual victory. "Jeff is one of our most energetic guys," Head Coach Kevin Warne said. "He's always one of the first ones running, he's always out early shooting. He's doing all of the little things that we ask and it's paying off." Fountain broke Georgetown's stretch of close to 30 minutes without a goal, by wrapping around the cage to score with 1:38 left in the second quarter to bring the Hoyas within two. After halftime, he scored quickly to cut Navy's lead to one goal. In overtime, Fountain scored the game-winner on an assist from Zac Guy with 2:04 remaining in the extra period.
