WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University men's lacrosse team will host Friends of Jaclyn Day (FOJ) on Saturday, April 5 when they meet BIG EAST opponent Providence College on Multi-Sport Field. Opening face-off is scheduled for 3 p.m., but fans are encouraged to learn more about the FOJ Foundation and make their donations in advance.
The Friends of Jaclyn has a global vision to provide every child suffering from a brain tumor, the opportunity to receive love and support as they struggle through their everyday challenges. For more information, or to make donations, visit www.friendsofjaclyn.org.
"This is a great opportunity for our guys to do their part for a great cause," Georgetown Head Coach Kevin Warne said. "So many people are affected by this and we're more than happy to do our part to benefit Friends of Jaclyn."
FoJ seeks to immediately impact the child's life in valuable and constructive ways that will alter their outlook about their situation, whereby giving them hope and courage to fight this disease, by providing these children and their families with teams of dedicated student athletes and coaches who give the children love, support and friendship, improving their quality of life. In turn, the athletes gain a different perspective about life and compassion - the gift of caring for others.
