April 8, 2013

WASHINGTON - Sophomore attackman Reilly O'Connor (Brooklin, Ontario/The Hill Academy) was named to the BIG EAST men's lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon after a six-goal, two-assist week for the Hoyas who went 1-1, including a win over No. 10 St. John's. It is the third time this season O'Connor has earned a spot on the conference's weekly honor roll.

O'Connor led Georgetown with four goals and one assist in a dramatic 14-13 overtime win over the Red Storm on Saturday in the Battle at Bethpage. O'Connor also scored two goals and had one assist in the Hoyas loss to Villanova on Wednesday evening.

This is the third time during the 2013 season that O'Connor has been named to the weekly honor roll and second consecutive week he has earned the recognition. O'Connor leads the Hoyas this season with 21 goals and 18 assists for 39 points through 11 games. He is tied for third in the BIG EAST, averaging 3.55 points per game.

O'Connor and the Hoyas return to action on Sunday when they travel to South Bend, Ind. to take on No. 4 Notre Dame (8-2, 2-1 BIG EAST) with the opening face-off scheduled for 11:02 a.m. Live coverage of the Hoyas and Irish begins at 11 a.m. on ESPNU with Matthew Ward and Mark Dixon calling the action.
