WASHINGTON - Graduate student Tyler Knarr (Eagleville, Pa./LaSalle College) was named to the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll for the fifth time this season and seventh time during his career after winning 20-of-24 face-offs and picking up 14 ground balls in Georgetown's season-ending loss to Rutgers on Saturday.
Knarr capped off a brilliant career, by winning 20-of-24 face-offs against Rutgers' Joseph Nardella, who had been the second-leading face-off specialist in the nation coming into Saturday's game. Knarr also picked up 14 ground balls to move into the lead, nationally, with 10.93 ground balls per game.
In his final campaign on the Hilltop, Knarr rewrote the Georgetown record book, winning 207 face-offs to break Brian Tabb's single-season record of 186. He also broke his own single-season ground ball record of 112 with 153 during the 2014 season.
Knarr finishes his career second to Andy Corno in face-off wins (463), face-off win percentage (.617) and ground balls (308).
