WASHINGTON - Sophomore attackman Reilly O'Connor (Brooklin, Ontario/The Hill Academy) and redshirt junior Tyler Knarr (Eagleville, Pa./LaSalle College) were both named to the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll after the Georgetown University men's lacrosse team (6-8, 3-3 BIG EAST) defeated Rutgers, 15-7 on Saturday night to advance to the BIG EAST Tournament.
O'Connor was selected to the honor roll for the fourth time this season, after tying his career-high with six assists to drive the Hoyas offense to 15 goals in Saturday night's victory that helped clinch the fourth seed in this week's BIG EAST Tournament. O'Connor's seven points was his second best total of the season, giving him 50 points (23 goals, 27 assists) on the season. O'Connor is third in the BIG EAST, averaging 3.57 points per game this season.
Knarr makes his second appearance on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, after winning 12-of-21 face-off attempts against Rutgers. Knarr also picked up 10 ground balls and caused two turnovers in the win. Hed is second in the conference in ground balls per game (7.21) and his 103 ground balls this season, is third in Georgetown single-season history behind only Andy Corno (105) and Brodie Merrill (104). Knarr is 165-of-266, with a .620 face-off win percentage this season, placing him sixth in the nation.
Georgetown will play top-seeded Villanova on Thursday night in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU with Eamon McEneaney calling the plays and Quint Kessenich providing analysis.
