WASHINGTON - Senior face-off specialist Brian Tabb (Potomac, Md./Georgetown Prep) and junior attackman Brian Casey (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) were named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for their performance in the Hoyas season-finale victory over Rutgers on Friday, April 27 at Multi-Sport Field. It is the fourth time this season and second consecutive week that Casey has made the honor roll, while it is the first career appearance for Tabb.
Tabb went 12-for-21, including a 6-for-7 stretch on face-offs during a decisive third quarter to help the Hoyas to a 13-8 season-ending victory against Rutgers last Friday. During the third quarter, Tabb eclipsed 400 career face-off wins, becoming just the second player in Georgetown history to win over 400 face-offs. Tabb also picked up seven ground balls scored his first career goal in the victory.
Casey posted his second consecutive four point game and fourth three-goal game of the season, finishing with three goals and one assist against the Scarlet Knights. Casey finished the season as the Hoyas leader in points with 35 (20 goals, 15 assists), with career-highs in goals and assists. Casey's four BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selections is most by a Georgetown player in the three seasons of BIG EAST lacrosse.
The Hoyas finished the 2012 season, 7-6, clinching the 23rd consecutive season the Georgetown men's lacrosse team has finished .500 or better, spanning Dave Urick's tenure on the Hilltop.
