Milwaukee, Wis. - For the second straight game, the Georgetown University men's soccer team tallied two goals and the Hoyas edged Marquette, 2-1 in a pivotal BIG EAST Blue Division match on Valley Fields on Saturday night. GU, who won consecutive games for the first time this season, improves to 5-9-0 overall, 3-5-0 in league play.

Freshman Chandler Diggs (Coppell, Texas/Coppell) netted his third goal of the year just 1:30 before halftime to give the Hoyas a 1-0 lead. Diggs took a pass from Sean Bellomy (Dallas, Texas/Jesuit College Prep) and ripped a shot from 12 yards out to the far post, beating MU sophomore goalkeeper Matt Pyzdrowski.

Georgetown didn't hold the lead for long as Marquette responded 29 seconds into the second half when Duncan Silvert-Noftle assisted on Dan Addis' second goal of the season to knot the game at 1-1.

The Hoyas took the lead, 2-1 at the 68:55 mark when Marquette had a miscue on the defensive end and registered an own goal. Georgetown's Len Coleman (Basking Ridge, N.J./Pingry School) was the closest Blue & Gray player on the goal after Scott Larrabee (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./Loyola High School of Los Angeles) sent in a free kick from the right corner.

Georgetown freshman Matthew Brutto (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) made four saves to record his third shutout in six starts.

After scoring just three goals through the season's first nine games, Georgetown has now scored four goals in its last two matches and six goals in its last five games.

The Hoyas have been victorious in all three meetings with Marquette.

Georgetown travels to College Park, Md. on Tuesday, October 23 for a 7:30 p.m. contest with the University of Maryland.
