Georgetown Soccer Earns NSCAA Academic Award
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Georgetown University men's soccer team was one of 13 schools recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for exceptional performance as a team in the classroom during the 1999-2000 school year.
The Hoyas had a team grade-point average of 3.09. It was the second time that Head Coach Keith Tabatznik's team has been honored by the NSCAA. The Hoyas also won the award in 1997.
Georgetown senior Jeff Boehling (Solon, Ohio/Solon) was selected to the NSCAA East Scholar-Athlete Team. Juniors Peter Finn (Derwood, Md./Magruder), Truls Engebretsen (Oslo, Norway/Berg Videregaaende) and Andy Sole (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Escola Americana de Campinas) were Honorable Mention selections by the NSCAA.
