Men's Soccer to have Two Games on the Pac-12 Network

WASHINGTON - The Pac-12 Network released its men's soccer television schedule earlier this week and Georgetown University will be a part of two games within the opening week of the season.
The television schedule begins with the Hoyas taking on the University of California- Berkeley Golden Bears on Friday, August 30 at 5 p.m. ET. On Sunday, GU will face Stanford University at 7 p.m. ET as the first three games of the television schedule feature teams from this region.
Last season, Georgetown made history with its first-ever trip to the College Cup and a national championship game appearance. GU finished the season with a record of 19-4-3 and a mark of 6-2-0 in the BIG EAST Conference. The squad was the third overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and the 19 wins were the most in program history. The Hoyas were the BIG EAST Blue Division Champions, the BIG EAST Championship runners-up and advanced to the national championship game in PKs in a thrilling game against the University of Maryland.
Cal was 8-7-3 a season ago with a mark of 3-5-2 in the Pac-12. Georgetown is 0-1 all-time against the Golden Bears.
Stanford went 9-8-1 last year finishing third in conference play with a record of 5-4-1. The Hoyas are 1-0 against the Cardinal. Georgetown Head Coach Brian Wiese is familiar with the facility beginning his coaching career at Stanford for five seasons under current Notre Dame Head Coach Bobby Clark from 1996-2001. During his time with the Cardinal, Wiese also earned a master's of science degree in product design (mechanical engineering) from the university.
