WASHINGTON - Georgetown University senior forward Steve Neumann (New Hope, Pa./Council Rock North) was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after an outstanding weekend to help the No. 3 Hoyas to a 1-1 record to start the season.

Neumann scored a pair of goals in the 2-0 victory over Stanford University on Sunday evening in Palo Alto, Calif. He connected on a penalty kick in the 43rd minute and then cleaned up a deflection in the 88th minute as GU notched its first victory of the 2013 campaign.

The senior was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List to begin his final season on the Hilltop.

Neumann was last year's team MVP and one of the four captains. He was named a Second Team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as well as receiving a nod to the College Soccer News' First Team and's Team of the Year. Neumann was also an NSCAA First Team All-Northeast Region honoree. He was named All-BIG EAST First Team for the second-consecutive year.
