No. 16 Georgetown Travels to DePaul on Saturday

Sept. 22, 2017

WASHINGTON - The No. 16 Georgetown University men’s soccer squad will travel to DePaul University for a 4 p.m. ET BIG EAST Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at Wish Field. The Hoyas are 5-1-1 on the season, but searching for their first league victory.

On Wednesday, GU was staring at a two-goal deficit before late-game heroics completed a three-goal comeback to defeat Stony Brook University, 3-2, in overtime in a nonconference matchup at Shaw Field. After dominating possession throughout overtime, the game winner came in the 98th minute as the ball was served into the box to senior Declan McCabe (Weston, Mass./The Rivers School). The midfielder found junior Edson Martinez (Salem, Ore./North Salem) at the top of the box and he sent it into traffic. The ball fell to the feet of junior defender Peter Schropp (Omaha, Neb./Creighton Prep) who finished into the back of the net for the golden goal.
