Allen Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University men's soccer freshman Brandon Allen (Old Bridge, N.J./St. Joseph's) was named the BIG EAST Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, while junior goalkeeper Keon Parsa (West Hills, Calif./El Camino Real) earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. Allen was also named to the National Team of the Week.

Allen had five points in a 2-0 week for Georgetown. He assisted on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at James Madison which snapped a 15-game home unbeaten streak. Allen also scored a pair of goals, including the game winner, in a 3-1 victory at Pittsburgh. He is leading the conference with six game winners this season and has a team-high 18 points with eight goals and two assists.

Parsa made 10 saves over two games and posted a shutout for the Blue & Gray. He had five saves in the 1-0 victory at JMU as well as five saves in the victory at Pitt. Parsa is 4-0 on the season with three shutouts and 21 saves on the year. It marks Parsa first-career BIG EAST weekly honor.

Allen's award marked the fourth overall weekly honor for Georgetown. Allen is the only player this season to earn three weekly awards.

The Blue & Gray will be back in action on Wednesday as the team continues BIG EAST Conference play with No. 2/2 Connecticut. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., at North Kehoe Field. Live stats and a webcast featuring Dan Helfrich will be available at
