Montes Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University men’s soccer freshman midfielder Jacob Montes (Lake Worth, Fla./Beaverton [Ore.]) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll the league office announced Monday afternoon. The No. 14 Hoyas are 7-1-1 on the season and 2-1 to sit in second place in the BIG EAST Conference.

Montes had a foot on both Georgetown goals on Saturday as he marked two assists in the Hoyas’ 2-1 victory over Marquette. The freshman has a team-high four assists on the season.

This is his first-career nod to the honor roll and Georgetown’s fourth on the year.

The Hoyas will be back in action in another BIG EAST matchup on Friday at Shaw Field against the Butler University Bulldogs. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Dan Helfrich and Tom Greaser calling the action. Live stats will also be available at
