Emily DeCamilla is in her second year as an assistant coach for the Georgetown University men's and women's tennis team. A native of Sacramento, Calif., she played for the Ohio State University Buckeyes tennis team from 2002-05.
Most recently, DeCamilla served as the head tennis pro at the Elkridge Club in Baltimore. Prior positions included assistant tennis pro at Wild Dunes Resort in South Carolina and tennis representative with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) of Northern California. She has also instructed tennis camps and served as coach for a northern California junior zonal team.
DeCamilla has four years of Division I tennis experience, beginning her collegiate tennis at the University of Maryland and transferring to Ohio State as a sophomore. While at Ohio State, she was a recipient of the team's Most Valuable Player Award and played number one singles and doubles during her senior year. DeCamilla was a two-time participant in the NCAA team tournament and winner of an ITA Summer Circuit tournament. In 2004, she won 19 dual matches and clinched two of the three matches that enabled the Buckeyes to finish second in the Big Ten Championship Tournament.
DeCamilla was a three-year Ohio State Scholar Athlete and a three-year recipient of the Academic All Big Ten award. She was selected for a John Glenn Public Policy Institute Fellowship with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C. during her senior year.
DeCamilla received her bachelor of arts in political science in December 2005.
