Beatty Named All-BIG EAST

This is the second nod of his career

2016-17: The junior put up an impressive 15-11 singles record for the year to go with his 16-10 mark in doubles contests ... Began the fall season with two wins over challengers from UDC and Brown ... Strung together six-consecutive doubles victories in fall tournaments with partners Ian Witmer and Marco Lam, taking down opponents from schools like Old Dominion, Bucknell, and St. John's ... Highlights from the spring include comeback wins over Nichola Westergaard of Penn and Vikrant Dahiya of Monmouth ... Took down pairs from Bates, George Mason, Navy, and The Citadel from March 26 to April 2 on a four-match win streak ... Partnered with Peter Beatty to beat opponents from St. John's in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship.

2015-16: The sophomore went 7-10 in singles play and 8-8 in doubles play ... Posted two three-match win streaks in double play, the first stretched from September 25-27 with partner Yannik Mahlangu, took down opponents from Stony Brook, Navy and George Washington, the second streak from March 8-11 with Peter Beatty and Daniel Khanin, took down opponents from Wesleyan, UC San Diego and UC Irvine ... Posted a pair of two-match win streak with the first stretching from September 16-25, defeated Marco Feligioni of UDC, 6-0, 6-1, and Daniel Gutierrez of George Mason, 6-1, 6-3, his second streak stretched from January 17-29, defeated Evan Ward of Morgan State, 6-1, 6-4, and Alex Gaines of Navy, 6-3, 7-6...BIG EAST All-Academic selection ... ITA All-Academic.

2014-15: Rechan went 4-6 overall in singles play and 1-3 in doubles play as a freshman... Highlights from the spring singles season include, a 6-2; 6-2 win over UC Riverdale's Hans Baumstark and a two match win streak from April 2-April 11 against Morgan State University's William Jay (6-1, 6-0) and Villanova's Kelly Donaldson (6-2, 6-1)... had the match-clinching point over Jan-Willem Feilzer of DePaul in Georgetown's quarterfinals upset of the No. 4 seed Blue Demons at the 2015 BIG EAST Men's Tennis Championships on April 24... his doubles victory came over Caleb Troy and Jonathan Quenard of Richmond with partner Andrew Dottino...BIG EAST All-Academic selection.

Prior to Georgetown: A four year varsity letterwinner at Clayton High School, served as captain as a senior, was the varsity kicker for his football team as a senior...A member of the Miller Tennis Academy...Class 1 State Team Runner-Up in 2012, Class 1 Singles State Champion in 2013, runner-up in 2012... Was named the 2013 St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro Player of the Year...2010-2014 1st Team All-State, All-Metro and All-Conference...Second Team All-Conference kicker...Went undefeated posting a record of 31-0 in 2013, went 100-7 over the course of high school...Son of Lauren and Mike Rechan...St. Louis Post-Dispatch Straight A Student with a GPA above 3.75.
