Beatty Named All-BIG EAST

This is the second nod of his career

2016-17: Earned All-BIG EAST ... Beatty finished his junior year with a singles record of 14-19 and an 11-11 mark in doubles play ... Opened the fall season with four-consecutive doubles victories - including wins over opponents from Brown, Cornell, and Yale - alongside partner Yannik Mahlangu in the Penn Invitational ... Defeated Przemyslaw Filipek 6-7, 6-3, 1-0 (13) at the Farnsworth Invitational in October ... Clinched both singles and doubles victories against No. 14 UC San Diego, beating Eric Tseng 6-3, 1-6, 6-0 in his individual match ... Mounted a comeback victory over Jonathan Jemison of Emory during a dual match on April 13 ... Finished the season with four key wins, including singles victories over Roberto Livi of St. John's and Aviv Ben Shabat of Butler in the BIG EAST Championship.

2015-16: The sophomore went 18-10 in singles play, tied for first on the team with Michael Chen for most singles wins, and posted a 14-9 overall record in doubles play ... Posted a five-match win streak in singles play stretching from February 6 to March 9, took down opponents from Princeton, Monmouth, DePaul, Wesleyan and UC San Diego ... Won four matches in a row stretching from March 16 to April 2 defeating opponents from George Mason, Xavier, George Washington and St. Francis (PA) ... Won three matches at the USTA/ITA Regional Championship with partner Jordan Portner, defeated Brandon Griffin and Will Craqq of Mary Washington, 6-3, Austin Jones and Thomas Pecor of Navy, 6-3, Michael Nguyen and Michael Sienko of Army, 6-3 ... BIG EAST All-Academic selection.

2014-15: Named All-BIG EAST ... In his freshman season Beatty went 13-5 overall, with a record of 11-4 in spring singles play...posted a six match win streak from April 2-April 19 over opponents from Morgan State University, Richmond, Villanova, George Mason, UMBC and George Washington... had the tying point in Georgetown's 4-3 quarterfinals victory over DePaul at the 2015 BIG EAST Men's Tennis Championships on April 24... partnered with Daniel Khanin, John Brosens, and Alex Tropiano over 13 spring doubles matches and went 6-7 overall... had three victories with John Brosens over UC Irvine, Morgan State University and George Washington... went 2-0 during the fall season for the Hoyas with wins over Jabari Stafford of George Washington and Ander Murillo of the University of the District of Columbia... posted a mark of 2-2 with Alex Tropiano in fall play ... BIG EAST All-Academic Selection.

Prior to Georgetown: A four year letterwinner at Middlesex Prep School, also earned three letters in tennis...Served as captain one year....Won the Oregon 4A Individual State Championship in 2010, also won the team title the same year...Was ISL All-League from 2011 through 2013...Son of Maria MacGregor Pope and Peter Tanahill Beatty...Has two siblings, MacGregor (16) and Grace (9)...His mother, Maria Pope was on the crew team at Georgetown, she was a member of the class of 1987...Was an Honor Roll student all four years of high school.
