Men's Tennis Stays Unbeaten at Home by Defeating UDC

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's men's tennis team (6-8) won its fourth straight match and stayed undefeated at home by defeating local rival UDC, 7-0, at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex. The Hoyas have not lost at home in five outings and will play six of their final seven matches at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex.

The Blue and Gray again started strong by winning two of three doubles matches. First off the court was third doubles when Reese Milner (Los Angeles, Calif./Crossroads) and Daniel Khanin (Baldwin, N.Y.) won 8-5. Casey Distaso (The Woodlands, Texas/Edmond North) teamed with Charlie Caris (Des Moines, Iowa/Theodore Roosevelt) at one doubles and clinched the doubles point, 8-1.

In singles Alex Tropiano (Laurel Hollow, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) brought in a win on court six, 6-1, 6-1. Khanin played one singles for the second consecutive match and performed well winning, 6-0, 6-3. Shane Korber (Newport Beach, Calif./Corona Del Mar) won the clinching point at four, 6-2, 6-0.

Also earning wins for Georgetown were Distaso on court five, 6-4, 6-3, Caris on two, 6-1, 4-6, 10-5 and Milner on three, 4-6, 7-5, 10-5.

Georgetown hosts its fifth straight opponent, Morgan State, on Friday, March 29. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
