April 21, 2012
WASHINGTON - The seventh-seeded Georgetown University men's tennis team (14-8) fell to the No. 2 University of Louisville Cardinals in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament in Tampa, Fla., on Friday afternoon. The Blue & Gray will now face No. 6 Marquette in a consolation match on Saturday. In doubles play, the Cardinals took the point but Georgetown had a chance to take one match at No. 1. Seniors Andrew Bruhn and Brian Ward were at the 8-8, 3-2 point in the match before it was left unfinished. In singles play, Louisville took the first three matches to get the match despite a number of battles including junior Charlie Caris at No. 2 who forced three sets. Due to inclement weather, Saturday's schedule has shifted. The Hoyas will now face No. 6 Marquette University in a consolation match on the Andros Dorm Courts at noon.
