Liam Boylan-Pett and Renee Tomlin Named BIG EAST Track Athletes of the Week

Washington, D.C. - Georgetown swept the BIG EAST track Athlete of the Week awards as junior Renee Tomlin (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) and graduate student Liam Boylan-Pett (Bath, Mich./Columbia) were honored after their strong performances at Penn Relays last week.
Tomlin was a member of three relays teams that all placed within the top-three finishes. In the distance medley relay, Tomlin ran the third leg in 2:06.4 to help her team to a second place finish. The squad's time of 11:02.85 is the second-fastest in school history and was less than a second behind winner Tennessee (11:02.11). In the 4x1500 meter relay, the junior also ran the third leg with a time of 4:16.7. Her split time ranks third all-time at Georgetown.
The relay team placed second with a time of 17:11.80, which ranks as the third-best world time and second best American, collegiate, Penn Relays and Franklin Field time. In addition, the Hoyas broke the school record by more than 26 seconds, which was set at the 2004 Penn Relays. The final relay for Tomlin was the 4x800 meter where she ran the second leg in 2:06.55. She helped the squad to a third-place finish with a time of 17:11.80.
On the men's side, Boylan-Pett raced in two relays, which both finished in the top-five. In the 4x800 meter relay, he ran the anchor in 1:46.00 to record the third-fastest split in school history and the fastest split of the race. His team placed second with a final time of 7:16.88. Boylan-Pett's distance medley team placed fifth in 9:37.98. His anchor split time of 4:00.6 is the 12th-best split in school history and was the third-fastest of the race.
