Greg Lambert joins the Georgetown track & field / cross country coaching staff as an assistant coach, following a two-year stint in the same position at the University of Richmond. Lambert will work primarily with the sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers.

As an assistant coach at Richmond, Lambert worked with sprinters, hurdlers and horizontal jumpers. During Lambert's time at Richmond, the team amassed five school records in the pentathlon, women's indoor and outdoor 4x800m relay, and the indoor and outdoor triple jump. Lambert also guided the Spiders to a third-place finish at the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championships, a significant improvement in the program following four-straight bottom-half finishes. Additionally, Lambert led 15 student-athletes to earn All-A10 honors.

Prior to Richmond, Lambert spent two separate stints at his alma mater Coppin State, serving as a men's assistant coach from 2009-10 and 2006-07. While at Coppin State, Lambert assisted with scouting and recruiting, developing practices, event and meet management, as well as fundraising.

During his time at Coppin State, Lambert guided the Eagles to nine school records (400m indoor, 4x100m, 4x400m, 4x200m, 200m, 100m, 500m, 60m, 1,000m), including three Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) champions, three Jamaican Under-23 qualifiers, 12 NCAA East Regional qualifiers, one All-American, one USA Jr. qualifier, and two Academic All-District teams.

During the 2008-09 season Lambert was an assistant track coach intern for American University, where he developed practices and assisted in scouting athletes. During Lambert's tenure at American, the Eagles set three school records (200 indoor, 4x100m, 500m), had a top-three finisher in the distance medley relay as well as a top-three finisher in the 4x800m at both the Patriot League Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Prior to American, Lambert spent a year as a track & field graduate assistant at Delaware State where he earned a master's degree in sports management. At Delaware State, Lambert was part of a staff that produced 11 school records (200m indoor, 55m, 200m, 60m, 100m, 800m indoor, 800, 4x200m, 4x800m indoor, 4x800m, 4x400m), three MEAC individual champions and set a MEAC Championship record in the 4x400m relay. During that year, Delaware State also finished third at the IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships and had one USA Jr. qualifier and one team member. The Hornets had the top US junior in the 800m on the roster alongside three IC4A individual champions (200m, 55m, long jump) from 17 student-athletes who qualified for the IC4A Championships (indoor and outdoor combined). That year, Delaware State sent six athletes to the East Regional and one to the NCAA Championships with one athlete taking third in the 800m at the East Regional.

Lambert is a 2006 graduate of Coppin State and is certified as a USA Track & Field Coach Level I.
