Back-to-Back Mile PRs Highlight IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships

WASHINGTON - Scott Carpenter (Lenox, Mass./Lenox Memorial) ran back-to-back personal records (PRs) in the men’s mile to highlight the 2016 IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships, a three-day meet held at the BU Track & Field Center in Boston, Mass. The Hoyas sent a small contingent of athletes to compete in a select number of events.

Carpenter ran 4:06.06 in the prelims of the men’s mile to qualify for Sunday’s final. Carpenter clocked 4:05.06 to finish fourth in the finals of the event.

The Hoyas also qualified for the finals of the men’s 4x800-meter relay. The foursome of Andrew Ogle (Powell, Tenn./Powell), Charles Cooper (Montreal, Canada/Lower Canada College), Thomas Williams (Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy College Prep/Arizona State) and Zach Zingsheim (Lansing, Mich./Lansing Catholic) ran 7:30.65 for fourth place in the event.

The Blue & Gray continue the season as they travel to Birmingham, Ala., for the 2016 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, held March 11-12.
