WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University track & field team competed at the 2014 IC4A / ECAC Championships this weekend, hosted by Princeton University in Princeton, N.J. The Hoyas won two individual events over the abbreviated weekend of competition with many student-athletes getting the weekend off or participating in graduation events.

Samantha Nadel (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore) won the women's 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:09.76. Kelsey Smith (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) won her heat, the first of two, in the same event, with a time of 16:37.96.

All-American Dylan Sorensen (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) won the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:47.37. This is the second week in a row that Sorensen bests the field as just one week ago he won the BIG EAST title in the same event, his first conference event title.

Haley Pierce (Wilmington, Del./Tatnall School) placed second in the 1,500-meter finals, clocking a 4:22.55. Also taking second place was All-American Rachel Schneider (Dover, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas), who timed in at 2:06.46 in the women's 800-meter finals.

The quartet of Cole Williams (San Diego, Calif./Occidental College), Zach Zingsheim (Lansing, Mich./Lansing Catholic), Andrew Ogle (Powell, Tenn./Powell) and Michael Lederhouse (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) automatically qualified for the finals of the men's 4x800-meter relay when they took second in their heat on Saturday. In the finals, the foursome finished third with a time of 7:26.05.

Collin Leibold (Falls Church, Va./Gonzaga) placed fourth in the men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:21.16.

The Hoyas will return to action May 29-31 at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships East Preliminary, hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
