WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University track & field team secured five All-America honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). It was announced on Monday following the 2018 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Texas A&M University in College Station. The five honors were earned by four student-athletes in two events.
The men’s DMR of Amos Bartelsmeyer (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day), Kenny Rowe (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield), Rey Rivera (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) and Spencer Brown (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) placed 11th in the event to earn second team honors.
Bartelsmeyer also earned second team accolades in the men’s mile where he ran the seventh-fastest time of the prelims but did not advance to the finals.
The two nods mark the fifth and sixth All-America honors of Bartelsmeyer’s career. Brown earns his second All-America recognition while the duo of Rivera and Rowe each tally their first All-American honors.
Georgetown opens the outdoor track & field season on Saturday, March 17 at the Maryland Invitational in College Park, Maryland.
