WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University track & field program picked up a slew of academic honors this week as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its annual list of all-academic teams and individual student-athletes for the 2013-14 track & field season. Following another successful season, 15 student-athletes picked up all-academic honors while both the men's and women's teams were named all-academic.

To earn the distinction as an all-academic team, an institution needs to have a team cumulative grade point average of 3.00 and above with 208 teams on the women's side picking up the honor along with 116 teams on the men's side. Both teams recorded matching GPAs of 3.14 while competing in the BIG EAST Conference.

For the women, 727 student-athletes from 193 institutions were named USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees. The Blue & Gray accounted for nine with Katrina Coogan (Exeter, N.H./Phillips Exeter Academy), Shanique Dasilva (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Ford), Becca DeLoache (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park), Andrea Keklak (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury/Princeton), Amanda Kimbers (Baltimore, Md./McDonogh), Samantha Nadel (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore), Rachel Schneider (Dover, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas), Kelsey Smith (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) and Joanna Stevens (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg) all making the list.

On the men's side, six Hoyas took home the honors with Matt Howard (Blacksburg, Va./Blacksburg), Brian King (Sonoma, Calif./Cardinal Newman), Michael Lederhouse (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West), Collin Leibold (Falls Church, Va./Gonzaga), Bobby Peavey (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) and Andrew Springer (Westerly, R.I./Westerly) earning spots on the list. The Hoyas accounted for four spots among the 496 men from 165 institutions to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
1) For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA list.
2) For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
