Hoyas Set to Face Syracuse on Sunday

WASHINGTON, D.C - The Georgetown University women's basketball team will travel to Syracuse, N.Y., this Sunday to face the University of Syracuse in a BIG EAST matchup. The Hoyas defeated the Orange at McDonough Arena, 80-73, earlier in the season. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m., at the Carrier Dome.
The Hoyas are on a three-game winning streak, currently Georgetown is 16-10 on the season and 6-7 in the BIG EAST. Syracuse is 15-10 in season and 4-8 in BIG EAST play, the Orange are coming off an 87-79 loss to DePaul Tuesday night. Chandrea Jones and Erica Morrow lead the Orange in scoring, Jones with 16.4 ppg and Morrow with 16.3 ppg. Jones also leads the team with an average of 8.6 rebounds per game.
The Hoyas hosted West Virginia Wednesday night at McDonough Arena where senior guard Karee Houlette (Houston, Texas/Cypress Springs) led the Hoyas in double figures tying her career-high with 22 points as the Hoyas went on to beat the Mountaineers in overtime. Houlette is averaging 10.8 ppg, the Hoyas are also led by forward Jaleesa Butler (St. Louis, Mo./Alton). Butler is averaging 9.4 ppg and has become a key starter for GU.
