WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Women's Basketball Coach James Howard announced the addition of two players to the Hoya roster. Junior guard Brianna Jones (North Babylon, N.Y./North Babylon/Louisville) and Anita Kelava (Zagreb, Croatia/Croatian National Team/Maine) will both be coming to the Hilltop this upcoming season. Per NCAA transfer rules, the pair will be eligible for competition for the 2018-19 campaign.

At Louisville: Appeared in 22 games as a sophomore ... Tied her career best with six points at Pitt ... Pulled down a career-high six rebounds on two occasions ... Appeared in two NCAA Tournament games scoring two points against Chatanooga ... Came off the bench in 21 games as a freshman ... Played 10 minutes and grabbed one rebound against Central Arkansas in the NCAA Tournament first round ... Registered a career-best six points, four in the first quarter, against Clemson; also matched a season high with four rebounds ... Matched a season high with four rebounds against Dartmouth and Valparaiso ... Earned first collegiate points against Marist on a 3 to beat the first-quarter buzzer.
Prior to Georgetown: Earned all-state honors from the New York State Sportswriters Association in 2013-14 in addition to garnering MaxPreps Girls Basketball All-America honorable mention accolades ... Averaged 17.1 points and 10.3 rebounds, while knocking down 68 3-pointers during her junior campaign ... Surpassed 1,000 career points and was the only junior nominated for New York's Gatorade Player of the Year award ... Helped her school reach the Suffolk County Class AA championship game as a sophomore, producing 13.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game ... A five star recruit at North Babylon High School ... Ranked 40th overall in the Class of 2015 by espnW, and tabbed the eighth-best player at the guard position by Hoopgurlz ... Listed as the 24th-best recruit by Prospects Nation and 29th by Blue Star Basketball ... Selected to play in the inaugural women's Jordan Brand Classic in the spring of 2015 at the Barclays Center ... Played AAU for the Philadelphia Belles.
Howard on Jones: With the addition of Brianna, we will have another explosive scoring guard on the perimeter. Her experience and maturity at the collegiate level will allow her to come in and make an immediate impact on our program.
Zagreb, Croatia/Croatian National Team
At Maine: Appeared in all 34 games with 18 starts as a freshman ... Averaged 3.4 ppg as well as 2.3 rpg and led the squad with 32 blocks ... Scored a career-high 14 points against UMass-Lowell ... Pulled in eight rebounds against Binghamton and UMBC for career highs ... Managed five blocks against UMBC ... Scored in double-digits on three occasions.
Prior to Georgetown: Ranked as a four star recruit by Blue Star Europe ... Played on the U14, U16, U18 and U20 Croatian National Teams ... In 2015, led U18 Croatia to ninth place in Division A ... Led Croatia in rebounds (8.8) and averaged 8.3 ppg.
Howard on Kelava: Anita is an athletic forward who will bring international experience to our team. Her ability to score and rebound will help in our quest for success.
