Rodgers Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University senior shooting guard Sugar Rodgers (Suffolk, Va./King's Fork) was recognized by the BIG EAST Conference on Monday earning a spot on the conference's weekly honor roll. It is her third nod to the honor roll this season and four weekly award.

In a 1-1 week for the Hoyas, Rodgers averaged 27.0 ppg and 6.5 rpg. In the win at Monmouth University, she had 30 points including 25 in the second half which put her over the 2,000-career point total. Rodgers also went 10-for-13 at the line and posted six boards as well as six steals.

In the loss at No. 10/10 Penn State University on Sunday, Rodgers led the Hoyas with 24 points and also had seven rebounds.

The Hoyas will have an 11-day break for final exams before hosting the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits on December 21 at 2 p.m., at McDonough Arena. Live stats and a webcast will be available at www.GUHoyas.com.
