Butler Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University women's basketball freshman center Natalie Butler (Fairfax Station, Va./Lake Braddock) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after an outstanding performance in the Hoyas' last contest. Georgetown closed out non-conference play on Saturday and will open BIG EAST Conference play on Wednesday hosting Creighton University.

Butler posted her eighth double-double of the season leading the squad with 16 points and 18 rebounds in a 67-65 overtime loss at the University of Florida on Saturday. She currently leads the conference in rebounds averaging an impressive 12.8 rpg.

This marks Butler's first nod to the honor roll this season, she has been the league's Rookie of the Week on four occasions. It is also the third honor roll award for the squad this year.

Georgetown finished out non-conference play with a mark of 6-6 overall.

The Hoyas will host Creighton University on Wednesday at McDonough Arena at 4 p.m., in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. Hoyavision will be available or fans can follow the live stats at www.GUHoyas.com.
