Eleven Named to 2011 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad

Eleven Georgetown field hockey players were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad when the awards were announced on March 19. Senior defender Kalli Krumpos (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) led the Hoyas as a four-year honoree.

Wilson Named to Field Hockey All-BIG EAST Second Team

Junior forward Annie Wilson (Darien, Conn./Darien) earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team, when the honors were announced Thursday night. This is the third BIG EAST honor for Wilson this season.

Mosser, Tierney Named to BIG EAST Field Hockey Honor Roll

The BIG EAST named forward Charlotte Tierney (Rye, N.Y./Holy Child) and goalie Kelly Mosser (Fairfield, N.J.) to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Tierney had two goals, including the game winning score against Providence (4-14, 1-5 BIG EAST) in a 3-2 overtime victory on Saturday. Mosser recorded her first career win and 13 saves against the Friars.

Field Hockey Triumphs in Poor Conditions to Beat Providence in Season Finale

The Georgetown University field hockey team (3-15, 1-5 BIG EAST) overcame wet conditions to defeat Providence (4-14, 1-5 BIG EAST) in a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory. Charlotte Tierney (Rye, N.Y./Holy Child) scored two goals, including the game winner.

Field Hockey Match Moved to Noon on Saturday

The Georgetown University field hockey game at Providence has been moved from a 1 p.m. start time to noon, due to impending poor weather in the Northeast.
