WASHINGTON – Georgetown Field Hockey Head Coach Shannon Soares has announced the dates and opened registration for the 2014 S-Squared Sports All-Access Field Hockey Camp. The summer camp, headed by Soares, begins on Tues., July 29 and concludes on Fri., August 1.
“We are very excited to release information on our inaugural field hockey camp at Georgetown,” said Soares. “We are looking forward to providing campers with a fun and positive experience on the Hilltop this summer.”
Camp participants will have an all-access pass into stepping up their game. Participants will learn the latest technical and tactical components of the game in preparation for their upcoming school seasons. The camp is open to high school individuals and teams.
Camp will include instruction in the morning and afternoon followed by game play in the evening. The camp is designed to create a fun and competitive environment for players to develop their individual and team skills.
Camp staff will consist of NCAA Division I collegiate coaches with current Division I student-athletes serving as camp counselors.
Overnight campers will be housed on campus and the training sessions will take place at Multi-Sport Field, located in the middle of Georgetown University.
Soares, who will begin her first season as the head coach of the Georgetown field hockey program, will head the camp. Prior to Georgetown, Soares spent one year as the head coach at VCU and an additional five years as an assistant at the school. As head coach, she led the Rams to a 13-5 record after the team finished 5-13 just one year before.
