Farley Named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University field hockey freshman Anna Farley (Bell Air, Md./Bel Air) was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Farley had two goals plus two assists in a 1-1 weekend for the Hoyas.

On Friday, in a triple-overtime defeat to the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Farley tallied her first career goal, evening the match at 1-1. In the second game of the weekend, against Holy Cross, the freshman back recorded a goal and two assists as the Hoyas earned the victory, 4-3.

This is the first career weekly honor for Farley, who has contributed two goals and three assists for seven points, and Georgetown’s fourth nod to the weekly honor roll so far this season.

The Georgetown field hockey squad will return home on Friday, September 15 at 2 p.m., when it faces off against Quinnipiac University. The game will be available to watch via livestream and with live stats at www.GUHoyas.com
