The Hoyas are coming off their second win of the season after a 4-1 win at St. Louis University. Georgetown's four goals were a season high. Three different Hoyas scored in the contest as Kimberly Keating (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Merion Mercy Academy), Meghan Murphy (Walpole, Mass./Walpole) and Catherine Shugrue (Devon, Pa./Episcopal Academy) all scored, with Shugrue netting two.
Georgetown's senior goalkeeper Briana Pereira (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) will make her 52nd appearance in the Blue and Gray. Pereira has a .653 save percentage in 2012 and a 3.97 goals against average.
In the matchup against BIG EAST foe Providence, the Hoyas will be attempting to record their fourth straight season with at least one conference win. The last time the Hoyas and Friars met was in the season finale in 2011. Georgetown squeezed out a 3-2 victory in overtime as current senior Charlotte Tierney (Rye, N.Y./Holy Child) hit the game winner. Georgetown also notched a 3-2 overtime victory against Lehigh in last season's meeting. Wilson scored twice in the game, including the game decider.
Providence enters the showdown on a three game winning streak, defeating Holy Cross, Harvard and Kent State. The Friars netted a season high six goals against Kent State. Five Friars have at least two goals on the season. Lehigh visits Georgetown after a Friday night game against #6 Penn State. The Mountain Hawks opened the year with a five game losing streak but snapped the streak with a 6-3 win against Towson on September 9.
