Hoyas Hit the Road for Games at Louisville and Miami (Ohio)

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University's women's field hockey team (2-6, 0-1) takes to the road this weekend with games at Louisville and at Miami (Ohio). The Hoyas play their second BIG EAST game on Friday, September 21, at 6 p.m. against Louisville then play at Miami (Ohio) on Sunday, September 23, at 11 a.m. It will be the third weekend road trip of the season for Georgetown after hosting two games this past weekend against Providence and Lehigh. Last season Georgetown and Louisville met in mid-September with the Hoyas falling 5-0. It was the BIG EAST opener for both teams. The Cardinals have won all six previous meetings. Georgetown's trip to Oxford, Ohio will be their second ever visit to Miami. The last time GU played in Oxford was in 1994. The overall series between the Hoyas and Red Hawks is tied 1-1. Louisville owns a 5-3 overall record this season and its game with Georgetown will be its BIG EAST opener. All three of the Cardinal losses have been by one goal, with two coming in overtime. The Cardinals lost in their last outing, falling 2-1 in extra time at #20 Michigan State. Miami (Ohio) has lost its last two outings, losing at William and Mary and at Virginia. The Red Hawks own victories against Longwood and Ohio State along with six losses in 2012. Miami hosts Central Michigan on Friday, September 21, before facing Georgetown.
