WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown field hockey team (0-8) hosts BIG EAST Conference foe Rutgers (7-1) at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex in College Park, Md. on Friday, September 26 at 6 p.m.

It will be the 12th time the teams have met since 1979. The Hoyas are 4-7 against the Scarlet Knights with their last victory coming on October 4, 2003, a 2-1 overtime win at Kehoe Field.

Senior Dee Crovo (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) leads the BIG EAST in saves (67) and saves per game (8.38) through eight starts during the 2008 season. Crovo has made 278 saves in 46 career games played, including 41 starts.

Junior Kristen Volpe (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) and sophomore Micaela O'Toole (Alexadria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) each have two goals to lead the Hoyas offense. Senior Ashton Hospodar (St. Davids, Pa./Radnor) has two assists on the season.

Freshmen Lila Samperton (Bethesda, Md./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes), Meggie Taylor (Ardmore, Pa./Merion Mercy Academy), Ai Nishino (Rye, N.Y./Rye) have started each game for the Hoyas, while freshman Kalli Krumpos (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) has started five.

The Scarlet Knights come off of a 4-0 victory against Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday. RU is led by senior Amy Lewis, who has recorded 36 points (17 goals, 2 assists) in just eight games. Sophomore Jenna Bull leads the squad with seven assists.

Georgetown remains home to take on Rider on Tuesday, September 30. The Hoyas are 6-1 all-time against the Broncs.
