Field Hockey to Play Senior Game Against Villanova

The Georgetown University field hockey team (2-13, 0-4 BIG EAST) will play its last home game against Villanova (6-9, 2-2 BIG EAST) at the William I. Jacobs Recreational Complex at American University at 3 p.m. on October 21. Seniors Kalli Krumpos (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) and Ai Nishino (Rye, N.Y./Rye) will be honored before the start of the match.

The Hoyas will also play American (7-6) on Sunday, October 23 at 1 p.m. at the William I. Jacobs Recreational Facility, with American featured as the home team.

Villanova beat BIG EAST rival No. 24 Louisville (8-7) 2-1 at home on Saturday, October 15. The Wildcats competed in several close games against BIG EAST teams this season, including a 2-1 overtime loss to No. 8 Syracuse on September 23. Villanova is ranked third in the BIG EAST standings behind No. 2 Connecticut and No. 8 Syracuse. Connecticut and Syracuse have received automatic bids to the BIG EAST Tournament.

American sits just outside NCAA national top 25 rankings at No. 26. The Eagles were on a five-game winning streak, until a loss to No. 5 Maryland last weekend. American was ranked first in the Patriot League Field Hockey Preseason Poll, and is currently in second place behind Lafayette. The Eagles have qualified for an automatic bid to the Patriot League Tournament.

Midfielder Kalli Krumpos (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) and defender Ai Nishino (Rye, N.Y./Rye) will play their last home game at the William I. Jacobs Recreational Complex at American University on Friday. The Blue & Gray plays its final regular-season game at Providence (3-11) on Saturday, October 29.
