WASHINGTON - Georgetown field hockey freshman Cami Osborne (Newtown Square, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame de Namur) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday afternoon. Osborne scored one goal in each game over the 1-1 weekend.
Osborne is ranked fifth in the BIG EAST with 12 goals this season. She is only the second person in the Georgetown field hockey program to score 12 goals in a single season.
The Hoyas (9-10, 1-6 BIG EAST) lost on Friday evening to BIG EAST rival Villanova, 5-3. Osborne found an opportunity off of a penalty corner to score with 10 seconds remaining in the first half. Osborne’s shot tallied Georgetown’s first goal of the game.
In Sunday’s season finale victory over La Salle, 5-4, Osborne scored her 12th goal of the season to give the Hoyas a 2-1 lead in the first half. She found a pass from freshman Ali Cronin (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) to fire her shot down the middle.
This is Osborne’s fourth time being named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honors. On August 28, she was named as Rookie of the Week. On September 4 and October 2, she was named to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Osborne finished the season with 12 goals and two assists, appearing in all 19 games as a freshman, with a team high of 26 points.
