The Georgetown University women's golf team finished in 16th place among 16 teams at the Hurricane Invitational, hosted by the University of Miami at the Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club in Coral Gables, Fla.
The two-day event was won by No. 23 Baylor, who shot a 54-hole score of 31-over par 833, four shots ahead of second place Texas State (35-over par 887). Host Miami shot a 46-over par 898 and finished third, while Oklahoma State was fourth (50-over par 902) and Mercer placed fifth (67-over par 919). The Hoyas placed 16th with a three round score of 133-over par 985.
Freshman Patricia Lee (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch) was the top finisher for Georgetown, tying for 68th place at 32-over par 245. She posted an 8-over par 79 in the second round.
Junior Stefanie Soelling (Everett, Wash./Everett) placed 72nd overall with a 34-over par 247, including a final round score of 7-over par 78.
Junior Alice Choi (Whitestone, N.Y./Bayside), who shot a 5-over par 76 in the first round, did not play the final two rounds due to illness.
The Hoyas are back in action on Monday, Feb. 18, competing in the Central District Tournament in Parrish, Fla.
