WASHINGTON – Georgetown recently wrapped up the second round of the Kiawah Island Classic in Kiawah Island, S.C on Monday. The Hoyas are currently in 17th place out of the 36 team field. Georgetown shot a 21-over par 209 in the first round on Sunday and a 28-over par 316 second round on Monday for a total of 625.
The 36-team tournament opened on Sun., March 2 and will conclude on Tues., March 4. Teams are playing at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
Georgetown freshman Jiayi Xiao (Foshan, China/Foshan No. 3 Middle School) shot a team best 1-over par first round and leads the squad with an overall 154 score through 36 holes
Hoya sophomore Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic) shot a team low 6-over par 78 second round and fellow sophomore Patricia Lee (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch) followed her up by carding a 78 second round.
Xiao is currently tied for 48th overall individually heading into the final round of the Kiawah Island Classic. Lee sits tied for 60th with her 11-over par score through the first two rounds.
Kent State leads the Classic with a team score of 594 through two rounds; High Point and Jacksonville State are second and third with scores of 599 and 601, respectively.
