Boydston Fires 1-Over Par 73, Georgetown in Second at BIG EAST Championship

Georgetown University sophomore women's golfer Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic) fired a 1-over par 73 and the Hoyas posted a 24-over par 312 in the second round and continue to stand in second place at the BIG EAST Championships, being played at the Hills Course at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Seton Hall shot a tournament-best 14-over par 302 in the second round and leads the six-team field after 36 holes at 40-over par 616. The Blue & Gray are second overall at 53-over par 629, extending their lead to six strokes, with Xavier and St. John's tied for third place at 59-over par 635. Creighton and Butler are tied for fifth place at 70-over par 646.

Boydston's 1-over par 73 is tied for the best individual round of the tournament, along with Seton Hall's Megan Tenhundfeld, who posted the same score on Friday. Boydston is now tied for second place individually - along with three other golfers - at 8-over par 152, four strokes off the pace of St. John's Harin Lee, who leads the field of 30 golfers at 4-over par 148.

Freshman Jenny Xiao (Foshan, China/Foshan No. 2 Middle School), who was tied for second after the first round, posted an 8-over par 80 on Friday and is tied for seventh place at 12-over par 156.

She is one of three Hoyas among the top 10, joined by sophomore Patricia Lee (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch), who carded a 4-over par 76 and is tied for ninth place at 13-over par 157.

Senior Alice Choi (Whitestone, N.Y./Bayside) and sophomore Liz DiVincentis (Durham, Conn./Coginchaug Regional) are tied for 22nd place with scores of 22-over par 166.

The Hoyas will tee off on Saturday, April 19 at 8:20 a.m.
