Georgetown Women's Golf Tied for Fifth After First Day at BIG EAST Championships

The Georgetown women's golf team placed two individuals among the top-10 overall and the Hoyas shot a 20-over par 308 and stand in a tie for fifth place of seven teams at the BIG EAST Championships, being held at the Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Fla. In the team standings Louisville, the only team under par, leads with a 9-under 279 (67-69-70-73). Notre Dame sits in the No. 2 spot with a 7-over 295 (70-74-75-76). The Bearcats of Cincinnati are in third place with a 13-over 301 (72-75-76-78). In fourth place is the St. John's Red Storm with an 18-over 306 (74-74-77-81). Both USF (74-76-79-79) and Georgetown (74-74-79-81) are tied for fifth place with a 20-over 308. Rutgers is in seventh place with a 34-over 322 (76-79-82-85). Louisville's Laura Anderson leads the field of 35 golfers at 5-under par 67, two strokes ahead of teammate Daphne Parker, second at 3-under par 69. Tied for third place is Notre Dame sophomore So-Hyun Park and Louisville senior Cindy LaCrosse, who each finished the day two-under 70. Freshman Anna Cumtell of Cincinnati rounds out the top-5 with an even 72. Georgetown seniors Chelsea Curtis (Hyannis, Mass./Cape Cod Academy) and Carly Hunt (Easton, Pa./Conestoga) each posted rounds of 2-over par 74 and are tied for seventh place. Freshmen Eunae Jo (Ridgewood, NJ./Ridgewood) is tied for 24th place at 7-over par 79, while freshman Joan Dulieu (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich Academy) shot a 9-over par 81 and is tied for 29th place and sophomore Robyn English (Warwick, R.I./St. Mary Academy) is tied for 31st place at 10-over par 82.
